Principal Scientist Pharmacology (m/f/d)

Location: Remote within a home-office within Germany

Employment: Unlimited Working Contract

As the new Principal Scientist Pharmacology, you will enhance our client’s Preclinical and Early Clinical Research team by providing scientific direction across its research and development activities. In this strategically important and highly visible position, you will lead translational and clinical pharmacology efforts, contribute to critical regulatory and development decisions, and influence the future direction of our client’s pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the clinical pharmacology and translational approach across several drug development programs
• Advise and support our client’s preclinical and early clinical development teams in planning, conducting, and evaluating pharmacology studies and PK/PD analyses
• Translate preclinical results into clinical development approaches and contribute to defining clinical treatment parameters
• Identify scientific opportunities, development risks, and critical decision points to guide pipeline prioritization and development planning
• Represent the department in cross-functional teams, external collaborations, and scientific exchanges, providing expertise in translational and clinical pharmacology
• Provide strategic and scientific guidance for regulatory interactions, including scientific advice procedures, deficiency letters, and regulatory submissions
• Act as a clinical pharmacology expert on governance bodies, including Data Monitoring Committees, Data and Safety Monitoring Boards, and scientific advisory boards
• Contribute to innovative drug development by scientifically and strategically evaluating new product candidates and development opportunities
• Establish and maintain scientific networks with external experts, academic collaborators, and contract research organizations

Your qualification

• PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree in Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline
• More than 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry in drug development, translational research, clinical pharmacology, or related fields
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacology, translational science, and mechanism-based drug development
• Practical expertise in population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) and physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and simulation
• Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities
• Proven ability to assess and integrate complex scientific data to support strategic decision-making
• Strategic mindset combined with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Solution-oriented mindset with a high degree of flexibility, resilience, and adaptability
• Fluent written and spoken English; German language skills are considered an advantage
